Intraday Energy Resource Scheduling for Load Aggregators Considering Local Market
Demand response (DR) programs and local markets (LM) are two suitable technologies to mitigate the high penetration of distributed energy resources (DER) that is vastly increasing even during the current pandemic in the world. It is intended to improve operation by incorporating such mechanisms in the energy resource management problem while mitigating the present issues with Smart Grid (SG) technologies and optimization techniques. This paper presents an efficient intraday energy resource management starting from the day-ahead time horizon, which considers load uncertainty and implements both DR programs and LM trading to reduce the operating costs of three load aggregator in an SG. A random perturbation was used to generate the intraday scenarios from the day-ahead time horizon. A recent evolutionary algorithm HyDE-DF, is used to achieve optimization. Results show that the aggregators can manage consumption and generation resources, including DR and power balance compensation, through an implemented LM.This research has received funding from FEDER funds through the Operational

Strategic Analysis in the Realm of Enterprise Modeling â On the Example of Blockchain-Based Initiatives for the Electricity Sector
This paper continues our previous work on modeling support for strategic analysis, by (1) extending a proposed modeling language for strategic analysis (called SAML), among others, with features proposed by business scholars to increase the expressiveness of the analysis, and (2) relating the extended SAML to a language for IT infrastructure analysis (called ITML). Thus, we explicitly contextualize strategic analyses by accounting for the role and impact of IT infrastructure. A scenario in the electricity industry is used to illustrate the analysis proposed

Generating Service Value Webs by Hierarchical Configuration: An IPR case
Enterprises increasingly jointly participate in service value webs. They do so because enterprises can then offer services they could not offer on their own. In earlier work, we have developed the e 3 value methodology to conceptually model such networks, as a design task. This paper proposes an approach to semi-automatically generate such service value networks based on service profiles and a stated consumer need. To this end, we apply skeleton design and hierarchical configuration techniques. The configuration process is illustrated by a case study in the field of intellectual property right clearing.
Challenges in service value network composition
Commercial services become increasingly important. Complex bundles of these services can be offered by multiple suppliers in a service value network. The e 3 service ontology proposes a framework for semi-automatically composing such a network. This paper addresses research challenges in service value network composition. As a demonstration of the state of the art, the e 3 service ontology is used. The challenges are explained using an example of an Internet service provide
Model-Based Valuation of Smart Grid Initiatives: Foundations, Open Issues, Requirements, and a Research Outlook
To support the value assessment of technically feasible smart grid initiatives there exist several valuation methods. To determine whether those methods address all concerns relevant for smart grid valuation, we carry out a literature analysis aiming at (1) identifying existing valuation methods and the steps they propose, (2) identifying important valuation considerations, and (3) confronting these considerations with artifacts proposed by the existing valuation methods to identify open issues, requirements, and remaining challenges. Based on the conducted analysis we identify, among others, the following main deficiencies: (1) only a limited scope of concerns relevant to valuation is covered, particularly a systematic consideration of stakeholders goals, value exchange scenarios, and the IT infrastructure is lacking; and (2) a lack of instruments dedicated to fostering accessibility of valuation, in terms of establishing a shared understanding, communicating results, or actively involving different stakeholders in the process. Based on the findings, we suggest the application of conceptual modeling as an instrument to address the identified deficiencies. Therefore, we reflect on the role that current modeling approaches can play in smart grid valuation. This paper is a part of a larger project whose ultimate goal is to develop a mode-based method for multi-perspective valuation of smart grid initiatives. The purpose of this paper is to establish a foundation for the realization of the envisioned method. The design of the model-based valuation method itself, its application and evaluation, are subjects of future work
Runtime evolution of multi-tenant service networks
In a multi-tenant service network, services relate to each other and collaborate to support the functional and performance requirements of multiple tenants. Such a service network evolves over time as its services and tenants change. Consequentially, the composite application that enacts the service network also needs to evolve at runtime, which is problematic. For example, different types of changes to the application, and their consequential impacts need to be realized and managed at runtime. In this paper, we present an approach to evolving multi-tenant service networks. We identify the types of runtime changes to a service network composite application and their impacts, and present a middleware support for realizing and managing the identified changes and impacts. A software engineer can specify the desired changes to the running application, and enact the change specification to modify it. We show the feasibility of our approach with a detailed case study
Modeling and Analyzing Digital Business Ecosystems: An Approach and Evaluation
Joint actions with other businesses are key to the survival of many companies today. Advanced collaboration technologies support companies in synchronizing their joint actions by forming digital business ecosystems (DBE). While such technologies are beneficial to companies, their use might also be potentially detrimental due to the increased complexity they add to the management of the BDE partners' collaboration and due to the partners' lack of knowledge in coping with this complexity. For companies to deal with the complexities in their dynamic environments, they need approaches for mapping out and analyzing their DBEs. Due to the newness of the DBE concept, how to model and analyze DBEs is hardly known. Yet, this is necessary, as partners in a DBEs want to know if their DBEs promotes or prohibits profit. This article proposes an approach to modelling and analyzing DBEs, based on the complimentary use of ArchiMate standards and quantitative methods such as the Analytical Hierarchy Process and linear programming. We carried out a first evaluation of the proposed approach by using an expert panel of practitioners. Our results indicate that the approach is easy to use from practitioner's perspective and that it can assist practitioners in executing their modelling and analysis tasks. However, more empirical evaluation research is needed in order to improve the approach's applicability in supporting companies in making DBE-related decisions
